c. 1900s/1910s; The Quezal Art Glass and Decorating Co. - Queens, New York
Adjustable painted cast iron lamp with a carnival glass shade.
This piece features a heavy, cast iron body that has had a gold-toned paint applied. At the end of the socket are leaves of a similar design to ones near the base that appear to open up towards the shade. This shade, signed Quezal, is quite the showstopper. The interior features an iridescent gold-tone that rivals the likes of Tiffany and Steuben, both competitors at the time. The exterior of the shade is lightly frosted and also boasts the same iridescent quality, with vine-like painted line work across.
Exhibits minor signs of wear including some paint loss on the base.
12" W x 18" D x 21" H (with shade)
